Syria’s Autonomous Administration announces four coronavirus deaths, 169 infections
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration announced the recording of four deaths and 169 new cases of coronavirus in the regions of northeast Syria.
The official Autonomous Administration account on Facebook cited Jiwan Mustafa, co-chair of the Health Board, that the deaths are a man and a woman from Qamishli, and two men from Hasakah.
The infections recorded today were as follows: Qamishli (41), Hasakah (44), Derik (47), Derbasiya (8), in Deir ez-Zor (23), in Tel Tamr (3), and one in each of Tabqa, Rimelan, and Terbispi.
The Health Board also recorded the recovery of six new cases of previously recorded infections.
With the announcement of these new cases, the number of people infected with coronavirus in the regions of northeast Syria has risen to 11,938 confirmed cases, including 419 deaths and 1,360 cases of recovery.
The new statistic for the number of infections and deaths due to the coronavirus comes on the fifth day of the new lockdown in the northeast regions of Syria.
On Tuesday, the full lockdown began in Qamishli, Hasakah, Raqqa, and the Deir ez-Zor countryside, to continue for a week, coinciding with a partial lockdown in the rest of northeast Syria.
