Turkish-backed militants killed and wounded in Syria’s Afrin

AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – Three members of the Turkish-backed Levant Front group were killed on Friday night, and others were wounded, after unidentified persons targeted the headquarters of the group in Sharan sub-district in Afrin countryside, north of Aleppo.

A private source told North Press that an attack was carried out by unidentified persons on the group’s headquarters with light weapons, killing three members and wounding two others.

The area witnessed a mobilization of the group’s members and the blockage of all secondary and main roads in the area, accompanied by an inspection of the homes surrounding the targeted area.

Sharan district is held by several Turkish-backed armed opposition groups, most notably Levant Front and the Malak Shah group.

On March 26, two members of the Turkish-backed Falcons of the North group were killed after unknown assailants targeted a military vehicle belonging to them in the Bulbul district, north of Afrin.
