Government forces renew shelling opposition sites in Syria’s Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, Syrian government forces renewed shelling fortifications of the armed opposition groups in the southern countryside of Idlib, northwest Syria.

The government forces bombed the fortifications of the opposition groups near Feleifel village in the southern countryside of Idlib, with artillery shells and rocket launchers, field source told North Press. 

In a related context, al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room announced that a member of the government forces was killed and two others were wounded by a sniper near the village of Ma’arat Mokhus, south of Idlib.

On April 7, the government forces bombed the opposition groups’ sites in the villages and towns of Kansafra, al-Fateira, Sfohn, al-Bara and Sarjah, in Zawiya Mountain, southern countryside of Idlib, with more than 100 artillery shells.

Areas of Idlib and parts of Aleppo, Hama and Latakia governorates are included in Moscow-Ankara agreement, which stipulates the cessation of hostilities in the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria.
