Syrian government records 115 coronavirus infections, 9 deaths
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday,the Media Office of the Syrian Ministry of Health recorded nine deaths and 115 new coronavirus infections in the areas under the Syrian government control.
The Media Office Facebook account reported that the deaths were 5 in Damascus, 2 in Tartus, 1 in Aleppo and 1 in Latakia.
Syrian government-held areas have witnessed a remarkable increase in the number of coronavirus infections amid warnings of the collapse of the health situation in those areas.
Most of the new infections were 43 in Damascus, 23 in Rif Dimashq, 20 in Latakia, 16 in Qunaitra, 12 in Homs, and one in Tartus.
With the new cases, the total number of infections in the government-held area has risen to 19,641, including 1,332 deaths and 13,434 recoveries.
