Syria’s Autonomous Administration to increase its employees’ salaries

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (ANNES) discussed, “increasing the salaries of the employees within the available capabilities,” according to what was posted on its official Facebook.

The AANES said that it had discussed the application of the Workers Act, “the possibility of implementing it next month, and the approval of the 2021 budget this April.”   

It was planned that the Workers Act would come into effect at the beginning of 2021, according to statements by AANES officials.

According to the Act, the employees will be divided into five sectors, and the financial return for their work will be determined according to these sectors.  

The meeting was attended by the presidency of the AANES Executive Council, the co-presidencies of the executive councils of the autonomous and civil administrations in north and east Syria.

The meeting discussed “mechanisms for providing basic materials of interest to citizens, such as flour, bread, gas, liquid kerosene and other fuel.”

The AANES regions are witnessing a shortage of basic materials such as bread and fuel.

The administration decided to start a general sterilization campaign in all autonomous and civil administrations in north and east Syria, according to what was posted.
