Government forces loot houses in Syria’s Aleppo countryside

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press)On Tuesday, the Syrian government forces destroyed many houses in the western countryside of Aleppo, northwest Syria, with the aim of stealing the iron inside the ceilings.

“The government forces have been working for weeks, to bomb houses in the towns of Kafr Halab and Miznaz, west of Aleppo, and detonate them,” field sources told North Press.

“The aim of these operations is to extract iron from the ceilings of the houses and sell it in the black markets in Aleppo,” the sources added.

On April 5, the government forces bombed positions of the armed opposition groups, in Jabal al-Akrad area, north of Latakia, with heavy artillery shells and rockets.

The de-escalation zone in northwest Syria has been witnessing a state of relative calm for about 48 hours, as there have been no violations by the government forces or opposition groups.
