Casualties among Turkish forces due to explosion in Syria’s Sere Kaniye

TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) On Tuesday, two landmines were exploded near a Turkish base south of the city of Sere Kaniye, north of Hasakah, killing and wounding several members of the Turkish forces.

Informed sources told North Press that three Turkish troops were killed and five others were wounded due to the explosion.

The wounded were transferred to Sere Kaniye Hospital, and then taken to Turkey, due to the seriousness of the injuries, according to the source.

The Turkish base, stationed near the village of al-Rihaniyah, adjacent to the M4 Highway, south of Sere Kaniye, witnessed a security alert, following the explosion.

The Turkish forces imposed a security cordon around the site of the explosion and prevented people from approaching, according to the source.

The Turkish forces and their affiliated armed groups have been running Sere Kaniye since the Turkish invasion of northeast Syria in October 2019, which displaced thousands of civilians.
