Husband and wife assassinated in Syria’s Raqqa countryside
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, residents of the village of al-Asadiya, north of Raqqa, northern Syria, found two bodies of a man and a woman who were shot dead.
The killed man was co-chair of the commune of the al-Remaila neighborhood, northern Raqqa.
Commune is a societal unit found by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) within the neighborhoods, and works on securing the citizens’ needs and addressing the unsolved problems.
“The crime took place at night, but it was found in the morning,” said Muhammad al-Ali, resident of al-Remaila neighborhood.
Investigations are going on to uncover the incident, a source of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) said.
Assassinations committed by unknown persons in Raqqa have irritated the residents, according to locals.
