IED explosion kills SDF member in Syria’s east Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, a Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) member lost his life and four others were wounded in an IED explosion that targeted their car in Theban town, east of Deir ez-Zor.
An IED was planted on the side of the main road in the town of Theban near a military headquarters. “The IED exploded when the military car exited the headquarters,” a military source told North Press.
Four members were transferred to a military hospital in al-Omar oil field for treatment, according to the source.
On Monday, unknown individuals riding a motorbike assassinated three SDF members in the same town.
The eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor is witnessing an increase in assassinations and explosions that mostly target SDF members, employees in the civil administration, residents, and tribal figures in the area.
