Syria’s Turkish-backed armed groups outraged over delay in wages
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Turkish-backed armed groups conducted a demonstration in the northern countryside of Aleppo, north Syria, demanding their wages that Turkey has not paid for three successive months.
On Monday, the city of Mar’e, north of Aleppo, witnessed a demonstration by militants of the Levant Front and al-Mo’tasem, which are affiliated with the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army, demanding their wages.
Security and health departments as well as employees of the local councils are receiving their salaries, while salaries of the members of the National Army have stopped, according to a source.
The Syrian opposition’s National Army consists of three main legions that have brigades including the military and civil police.
Opposition figures believe that Turkey continues “to starve the militants of armed groups affiliated with it in order to guarantee their loyalty and obedience to its instructions to send them as mercenaries to Yemen to fight with the government of Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
