SDF raided river crossings in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) raided a number of river crossings on the Euphrates with the Syrian government held-areas in the town of al-Shuhail, in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

“With an intelligence support of the US-led Global Coalition, the SDF raided a number of river crossings in al-Shuhail,” a local source told North Press.

“Crossfire took place between the SDF members and smugglers who were trying to smuggle oil products to the government-held areas,” the source added.

During the crossfire, a smuggler was killed and another wounded, according to the source.

The SDF also confiscated materials prepared for smuggling and sank ferries.

The process of smuggling oil products to the government-held areas is active due to the significant difference in prices between the two areas.
