Tense calm after Turkish bombardment of Syria’s Ain Issa

AIN ISSA, Syria (North Press) – Syria’s Ain Issa, north of Raqqa along the strategic M4 Highway, is witnessing tense calm Sunday morning after the intensification of Turkish bombardment at midnight last night.

A local military source told North Press that Turkish forces bombarded the northern outskirts of Ain Issa and the villages of Sidon and Muallaq with heavy weapons.

The source added that Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters managed to inflict damage on an armored vehicle when Turkish-backed armed groups attempted to infiltrate the village of Saida on the M4 Highway.

In the middle of last month, the SDF announced that a child was killed and many civilians were wounded in indiscriminate Turkish shelling on Ain Issa.

Turkish bombardment often causes damages to civilian homes and casualties among the population.
