Assad demands Syrians to stand with the state in facing US dollar

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, described the confrontation of the unstable exchange rate of the US dollar against the Syrian pound as a “battle”, and called on the citizens “to stand with the state to win this battle.”

Al-Assad’s speech came during his chairing the weekly Council of Ministers session, after he recovered from coronavirus, according to what was reported by government media.

Al-Assad considered that the main part of this battle “is a psychological war (…) which is no less important than the military battle.”

“To face this kind of battle, we must make people aware of it (..) It must be dealt with as a battle,” he added.

Al-Assad pointed out that if the citizens do not stand with “state institutions in this war, the institutions will lose, no matter what measures they take.”
