Asayish arrests 53 wanted in Hawl, Syria’s Hasakah

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced the arrest of 53 wanted of ISIS members during a security campaign in Hawl Camp, east Hasakah, northeast Syria.

“There are 5 leaders who are responsible for sleeper cells which were launching terrorist operations within the camp,” the Asayish said in a statement.    

“Mobile phones and many laptops that contained information on terrorists’ sleeper cells were confiscated,” the statement added.

On March 28, the Asayish along with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) supported by Counter-terrorism Forces and rapid Deployment Forces launched a security campaign inside the camp.

The security forces imposed a curfew in all sectors of the camp from 5 am to 7 pm. 

5,000 members of the Asayish taking part in the campaign which is scheduled to last 15 days.
