Government forces renew bombing of armed groups’ positions in Syria’s northwest

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the Syrian government forces renewed bombing the positions of Turkish-backed armed groups in the countryside of Hama and Idlib, in northwest Syria.

Field sources told North Press that government forces targeted the villages and towns of the southern countryside of Idlib with heavy artillery shells and rocket launchers.

The bombardment affected the villages of Kansafra, al-Fatira and al-Barra in the southern countryside of Zawiya Mountain, in addition to the villages of al-Riwayha and Jarada in the eastern countryside, the sources added.

The bombing targeted the Jabal al-Arbain area, southeastern Idlib, according to the sources.

In Hama, field sources told North Press that the government forces targeted the positions of armed groups in the villages of Qlaydin and al-Zaqoum in Ghab Plain with heavy artillery shells.

Sources added that the bombing coincided with intense flight of Russian reconnaissance aircraft over the regions of Idlib and the countryside of Hama and Lattakia, in the northwest of the country.

On Monday, Russian warplanes launched four air strikes on the western parts of Idlib.
