Civil Council building robbed in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday,unidentified persons robbed and vandalized the contents of Deir ez-Zor Civil Council in al-Ma’amel neighborhood, northern Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.

“On Saturday evening, unidentified persons broke into the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council building in al-Ma’amel neighborhood and stole some of the contents,” Ghassan al-Youssef, co-chair of Deir ez-Zor Civil Council, told North Press. 

“The unidentified persons destroyed some offices after stealing their contents, and fled,” al-Youssef added.

“This is due to a weakness in the work of the security forces in charge of protecting the Council,” he noted.

The Deir ez-Zor Civil Council has not revealed the details of the stolen contents.

On March 16, unidentified persons burned the People’s Council in the town of Abu Hamam, 90 km east of Deir ez-Zor.
