Russian forces conduct military patrol in Syria’s Derik

DERIK, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the Russian military police conducted a military patrol in the countryside of the city of Derik, in the far northeast of Syria.

Local sources from the village of Ain Dewar, north of Derik, told North Press that a Russian patrol arrived at the village this afternoon.

The patrol consisted of three armored vehicles with no air cover.

After reaching Ain Dewar, it turned back to the western countryside, towards its bases in the city of Qamishli.

The arrival of the Russian patrol was preceded by the arrival of an American patrol in the village of Ain Dewar, accompanied by two helicopters.

On Wednesday, Russian forces carried out a military patrol in the northern and western countryside of Derik.

The military police patrol the countryside of Dirk at least twice this week, without any explanation and details as to their significance and purpose. These patrols always follow the same path.
