Syria’s Autonomous Administration records 78 new coronavirus infections

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced the recording of 78 new coronavirus infections in northeast Syria.

Recently, the AANES-held areas in Jazira have witnessed a remarkable increase in the number of coronavirus deaths and infections.

In the Jazira region, the recorded infections were 34 in Qamishli, 19 in Hasakah, 11 in Derik, two in Girke Lege, two in Tel Tamr, and one in Rimelan.

Three cases were recorded in the Shahba area in the northern countryside of Aleppo, where those displaced by the Turkish invasion of Afrin reside, and six cases were also recorded in Deir ez-Zor.

Meanwhile, the Health Board recorded only one recovery.

With the announcement of these new cases, the number of people infected with coronavirus in the regions of northeast Syria has reached 9,570 confirmed cases, including 366 deaths and 1,291 recoveries.
