Turkish-backed armed groups target villages of Syria’s Hasakah

QAMISHI, Syria (North Press) – Tel Tamr Military Council, one of the formation of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the northern countryside of Hasakah, northeastern Syria, said that its fighters could intercept Turkish-backed armed groups’ attacks of the past two days.

The council said in a statement that on March 24 and 25, Turkish-backed armed groups launched attacks on the villages of Tel al-Laban and al-Kozliya of Tel Tamr.

The council added that its fighters were able to intercept the attacks, which led to the outbreak of clashes that resulted in the destruction of military vehicles and the injury of a number of the armed groups.

The statement added that in conjunction with the attacks, the region witnessed a shelling with heavy weapons by armed groups.

On Thursday, a source from the Council told North Press that Turkey and its affiliated armed groups targeted al-Dardara village, northeastern Tel Tamr with mortars.

On Wednesday, the armed groups targeted al-Kozliya village, west of Tel Tamr, with medium weapons, which resulted in material damage, according to the same source.
