Members of HTS assassinated in Syria’s Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) On Thursday evening, two members of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) were assassinated by unidentified gunmen in northeastern Idlib.

Local sources told North Press that unidentified persons, who were riding a motorbike, fired at members of HTS near the town of Termanin in the northeastern countryside of Idlib.

The sources added that the targeting resulted in the killing of two members of HTS while they were returning from their military points. 

On March 19, two HTS members were injured in an armed attack carried out by unidentified persons targeting a security checkpoint of the group at the northern entrance to the city of Idlib.

On January 24, two HTS members were killed in a similar attack targeting a security checkpoint near the town of Deir Hassan, in the north of Idlib. 

Idlib region, which is held by the HTS, is witnessing an unprecedented security chaos with frequent incidents of detonating IEDs, blocking roads, carrying out assassinations and armed attacks against leaders of the military groups in the area.
