Turkish forces target northeast Syria’s Tel Tamr

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, Turkish forces and the Turkish-backed armed opposition groups targeted the western countryside of Tel Tamr, northeast Syria, without casualties reported.

The Turkish forces and the affiliated armed groups targeted the village of al-Kozaliya, west of the town of Tel Tamr with heavy weapons and artillery shells.

The targeting was launched from the village of al-Arba’in, which is under the control of the armed groups, and the village of al-Wa’rat Abu Bakr, where the Turkish base is located.

Turkish forces and Turkish-backed armed groups have consistently bombarded the areas around Tel Tamr since the Turkish invasion and occupation of Syria’s Sere Kaniye and Tel Abyad in October 2019, which placed Tel Tamr just a few kilometers from the front lines between the former groups and the Syrian Democratic Forces and Syrian government forces.

Bombardment and attacks on the Tel Tamr countryside continue, even after agreements Turkey signed with Russian and American forces stipulating a ceasefire.
