Opposition groups shell government forces’ positions in Syria’s Hama countryside
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, Syrian armed opposition groups shelled positions of the Syrian government forces in the western countryside of Hama.
“Ansar al-Tawhid group targeted gatherings of the government forces in Ghab Plain, Hama western countryside, with heavy artillery shells,” a military source told North Press.
“The target resulted in casualties among the government forces,” the source added.
The source pointed out that the target came as a response to the continued shelling by the government forces in the de-escalation zone.
Although the ceasefire between Russia and Turkey has been in place since March 2020, the region is witnessing military escalation and mutual bombardment between the government forces and the opposition groups.
