Autonomous Administration records 76 coronavirus infections in Syria’s northeast
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced 3 deaths and 76 new coronavirus infections in northeast Syria.
AANES’ Facebook page quoted Jiwan Mustafa, co-chair of the AANES Health Board, who stated that the deaths are of two men from Hasakah and a woman from Qamishli.
In the Jazira region, the recorded infections were 22 in Qamishli, 19 in Hasakah, 6 in Derik, 4 in Amuda, and 4 in Derbasiya.
In the Euphrates region, the infections were 10 in Raqqa, 10 in Tabqa, and one in Shahba region in the northern countryside of Aleppo where those fled the Turkish invasion in Afrin, reside in.
With the announcement of these new cases, the number of people infected with coronavirus in the regions of northeast Syria has reached 9,297 confirmed cases, including 361 deaths and 1,275 recoveries.
Recently, the AANES-held areas have witnessed a remarkable increase in the number of coronavirus deaths and infections.
