Shell fell near Global Coalition base in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – “A shell fell hundreds of meters away from our forces’ position in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east of Syria,” US-led Global Coalition spokesman, Colonel Wayne Marotto, said on Tuesday.
“Missiles targeted an American base in the Koniko gas factory in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor,” media agencies earlier reported on Tuesday.
Marotto denied the existence of any injuries or damages as a result of the incident, while no party has yet claimed responsibility for that.
This incident coincided with the second anniversary of the elimination of ISIS by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Global Coalition.
Hundreds of soldiers of the Global Coalition deploy in east of Syria, especially in Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor regions.
With the support of the Global Coalition, the SDF arrests ISIS sleeper cells that are active in Deir ez-Zor region almost every day.
