Unknown attackers target SDF military post in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North press) – On Tuesday at dawn, unknown attackers targeted a military post of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the town of al-Busayrah, east Deir ez-Zor, with an RPG, wounding two SDF members.

The attackers tired two RPGs at the headquarters of Deir ez-Zor Military Council near the entrance of al-Busayrah, a military source told North Press.

The source added that clashes took place between the attackers and SDF, and lasted for about an hour.

During the clashes, two SDF members were wounded and transferred to al-Busayrah hospital for treatment, according to the source.

A local source from the town told North Press that he noticed the attackers holding the ISIS flag while they were running away.

Following the clashes, the SDF imposed a perimeter around al-Busayrah and conducted patrols inside the neighborhoods.

The eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside is witnessing ISIS activity targeting SDF military posts and their vehicles.

On March 13, unknown attackers on a motorbike targeted a checkpoint of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) with an RPG, leaving wounded and material losses.

Through close agencies, ISIS claimed responsibility for several assassinations and bombings against SDF members, Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) employees, and tribal and civil figures under different pretexts.
