Syria’s Ain Issa witnesses uneasy calm after Turkish shelling
AIN ISSA, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the town of Ain Issa, 50 kilometers north of Raqqa, witnessed an uneasy calm after Turkish forces bombarded it and its countryside with heavy weapons.
Turkey and its affiliated armed opposition groups started targeting the town and its countryside on Thursday.
On Monday, a Russian military convoy, consisting of four military vehicles accompanied by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), headed from Ain Issa and to the M4 Highway.
On Friday, the SDF reported that a child was killed and many others were wounded due to the indiscriminate Turkish shelling on Ain Issa amid the growth of the size of the confrontation area with pro-Turkish armed groups.
During the last two days, Turkish attacks concentrated on the villages of Sayda and Mua’laq, while the clashes extended to include several positions amid continued Turkish shelling.
