Syria’s opposition-held areas record no coronavirus infections

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, the Syrian Interim Government, a Syrian opposition government based in Turkey and associated with the Syrian National Coalition, did not record any new coronavirus infections in northwest Syria for the second consecutive day.

Syria’s northwest has been witnessing a noticeable decline in the recorded numbers of coronavirus infections, according to the statistics released by the Interim Government since mid-January.

The Interim Government announced through spreadsheets on its official website that it has tested 343 suspected cases, reporting no deaths.

The Interim Government pointed out, “It did not record any coronavirus infection on Sunday and recorded three new recoveries.”

On Saturday, the Interim Government did not record new coronavirus infections, but recorded 27 new recoveries northwest Syria.

With the new cases, the total number of coronavirus infections in the opposition-held areas has risen to 21,260 including 637 deaths and about 19,254 recoveries.
