SDF arrests ISIS member in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), with the participation of the US-led Global Coalition, arrested an ISIS member in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

“An ISIS member was arrested in the town of al-Shuhail area in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor,” a military source told North Press.

In February, the SDF announced a large-scale military operation against ISIS sleeper cells with the participation of People’s Protection Units (YPG), Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), and the Internal Security Forces (Asayish).

The eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor has witnessed recently an increase in ISIS cell activists, as a result the kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the US-led Global Coalition raised the pace of their security operations.
