New batch of Syrian IDPs to leave Hawl Camp to Deir ez-Zor
HAWL, Syria (north Press) – A new batch of Syrian families are preparing to leave Haw Camp, east of Hasakah, northeast Syria, towards the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, Mounir Muhammad, Haw Camp Departure Office, said on Thursday.
“The new batch consists of 70 families, with a total of 261 persons, and they come from Deir ez-Zor and its countryside,” Muhammad told North Press.
This is the 14th batch after the initiative of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) and tribal sheikhs to get the Syrians out of the camp.
“They will leave according to the initiative of the SDC and the decision issued by the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES),” he added.
This is the fifth batch to head to Deir ez-Zor, two headed to Manbij, two to Hasakah, and three to Raqqa and its countryside, in addition to a batch dedicated to the elderly from different regions, according to the camp official.
Muhammad pointed out that they sent them out after completing the procedures of verifying the documentaries provided and that they are continuing to work on this.
It is scheduled to send out the sixth batch of Syrian IDPs towards Deir ez-Zor in the next week, according to Muhammad.
The number of families leaving the camp since the initiative of the SDC, including the current batch, has reached 808, with a total of 3,189 people.
According to the camp administration statistics, 16,404 families remained in it with a total of 60,351 people – 8,256 Iraqi families with a total of 30,738 people, 5,619 Syrian families with a total of 2,1058 and about 2,529 foreign families with 8,555 people.
In October 2020, the AANES Executive Council issued a decision to send Syrian families in Hawl Camp out according to an initiative by the SDC and the will of tribal sheikhs of the area.
