One killed in tribal dispute in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, a person was killed in a tribal dispute in the town of al-Susah, 120 km east of Deir ez-Zor.
A local source from the town told North Press that the fighting broke out following a family dispute between cousins in the al-Sarat neighborhood in al-Susah.
The source added that the dispute devolved into the use of weapons, and Muhammad Al-Abdullah was killed.
The victim’s body was hidden in the house of a relative of the killer to keep the news secret amid security tension in the region and residents’ appeals to tribal leaders to intervene and settle the dispute, the source added.
On February 26, three people were killed and others were injured as a result of fighting between the Kassar and Albu Omira tribes in the town of al-Suwar, north of Deir ez-Zor.
