Casualties among National Defense Forces in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, members of the Iran-backed pro-regime National Defense Forces (NDF) of government forces were killed and wounded in an attack by unknown assailants on their sites in Bishri Badia, west of Syria’s Deir ez-Zor.

Syrian media said that a car carrying five members of NDF was attacked with automatic weapons in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, killing two and wounding others, and they were transferred to the military hospital in Deir ez-Zor.

Syrian government forces sent military reinforcements to the site with the aim of combing the area, without being able to locate the attackers or determine their identity.

On Saturday, a member of the Iranian-backed Revolutionary Guard group was killed and three others were wounded in an attack by unknown persons on one of the group’s points in the southern desert of al-Mayadin, east of Deir ez-Zor.

Syrian media sources reported Sunday that an Iranian-backed group deployed in Deir ez-Zor Governorate fired on people who were searching for the truffles in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, injuring three of them.

NDF members arrested three people who were looking for truffles and took them to an unknown area, according to the sources.
