Hezbollah increases boldness in north Lebanon: Israel

RAMALLAH, Palestine (North Press) –  On Wednesday, Israel’s Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) said that the level of Hezbollah’s readiness has increased regarding the possibility of conducting a military confrontation with Israel.

INSS attributes that to the end of the self-restraint period which Hezbollah imposed on itself during the last three months of Trump administration.

INSS considered the rising in Hezbollah’s boldness seems to be in cooperation with Iran.

Hezbollah believes that Israel is not dedicated to wage a risky military operation.

Within the final months of the former US President Donald Trump’s administration, it was clear that Hezbollah was careful in its operations along the Israeli-Lebanese border.

Also, Hezbollah has difficulty in consolidating the deterrence equation, which Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah pledged to achieve by force against the Israeli forces.

The Israeli security experts recommend the readiness of its forces on the northern border with Lebanon for a possible confrontation with Hezbollah in the coming months.

“There are two basic conditions: ensuring a comprehensive and thoughtful response, which limits confrontations and prevents a large-scale fighting, or exploits the confrontations in order to carry out a broad operation to launch a strong blow to Hezbollah’s precision missiles’ capability, which constitutes a strategic threat to Israel,” they noted.

The Israeli Ambassador to the UN, Gilad Ardan, presented a protest letter to the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary-General accusing Iran of being behind the bombing of the Israeli cargo ship while it was sailing in the Gulf of Oman.

Ardan demanded the UN member states to condemn Iran because of the attack, saying, “Israel will defend its citizens and sovereignty by all available means and power.”
