Government shelling on opposition posts in Syria’s northwest

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Syrian government forces targeted the armed opposition posts in al-Bara town, south of Idlib, northwest Syria.

“The government forces targeted the opposition sites in the town of al-Bara with artillery shells and rocket launchers,” a military source of the opposition told North Press.

“The shelling coincided with intensive drones and warplanes flight over the area, while no casualties reported,” the source added.

On Sunday, the Syrian government forces shelled the opposition fortifications in the towns of Kfar Shalaya, al-Fatira, and al-Bara, in the southern countryside of Idlib, and the town of al-Qahira in Ghab Plain, west of Hama.

The Moscow-Ankara Agreement in 2017 and its additional protocol in March 2020 provides for the cessation of all military operations in the de-escalation zone, northwest Syria.
