ERBIL, Iraq (North Press) – On Sunday, the Iraqi forces announced the arrest of 9 members of the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) in four governorates.
“9 ISIS members were arrested during operations carried out by Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) in several governorates,” Yahya Rasoul, spokesperson of Iraqi Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief, said in statement.
“The security services managed to arrest an ISIS member in the al-Basra governorate,” Rasoul added.
“In Kirkuk, the CTS was able to arrest 3 ISIS members, who hid in the residential neighborhoods,” the statement noted.
Also, 2 ISIS members were arrested in al-Anbar, according to the statement.
The statement pointed out that the operation was carried out on Sunday dawn, where 3 ISIS members were arrested in Kan’os, south of Mosul, north Iraq.
On February 21, the Iraqi armed forces announced the killing of ISIS leaders and members during a security operation north of Baghdad.
