IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Russian warplanes conducted airstrikes on posts of Turkish-backed armed opposition groups in the northern countryside of Latakia on Friday.
Russian warplanes targeted opposition posts in Jabal al-Akrad, north Latakia, with high-explosive vacuum missiles, field sources told North Press.
Russian airstrikes coincided with intensive shelling by Syrian government forces against opposition posts in the south Idlib countryside and west Hama countryside, the sources added.
Meanwhile, Syrian government forces intensified shelling on the opposition posts in the de-escalation zone, south Idlib countryside.
Syria’s northwest is subject to a ceasefire agreement signed between Russia and Turkey in March.
