Russian forces patrol Syria’s northeast Derik
DERIK, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the Russian Military Police conducted a periodic patrol in the countryside of the region of Derik in the far northeast Syria.
“A Russian patrol reached the village of Ain Diwar today and headed to the Roman Bridge on the Syrian-Turkish border,” local sources from Ain Diwar told North Press.
“The patrol consisted of four armored vehicles accompanied by two helicopters to secure the track of the patrol in the area,” the sources added.
The patrol went back to the western countryside passing through bordering villages west of Derik, according to the sources.
On February 22, the Russian Military Police patrolled in the northern and western countryside of Derik, which consisted of four armored vehicles and two helicopters.
The Russian Military Police patrol in the countryside of Derik twice a week, at least, without revealing any details about the goal of such patrols.
