Attack on armed opposition headquarters in Syria’s Aleppo countryside, IDP killed

Al-BAB, Syria (North Press) – On Monday night, unknown gunmen attacked a headquarters of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) in the region of al-Bab, east Aleppo, killing an IDP from Homs.

“Ala’ al-Abboud, an IDP from Palmyra, in the eastern countryside of Homs, was killed due to an attack on one of the SNA’s headquarters in Abu Zenden crossing, east of al-Bab, by two gunmen,” a special source told North Press.

“Al-Abboud was working as a guard in a farm affiliated with al-Hamza group, one of the SNA’s groups,” the source added.

On February 17, a member of the SNA’s Civil Police was killed with his child in the city of al-Bab by unknown persons.

The Syrian opposition-held areas in northwest Syria have been witnessing security chaos, including detentions and assassinations accompanied by repetitive blasts in light of the opposition groups’ failure to settle the security situation.
