American and Russian patrols in Syria’s far northeast
DERIK, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Russian Military Police and the US forces conducted two separate patrols in the western and northern countryside of the city of Derik in the far northeast Syria.

The Russian patrol consisted of four armored vehicles, accompanied by two helicopters, which toured villages north of Derik, local sources told North Press.
The patrol reached the village of Ain Diwar and returned to the western countryside of Derik, the sources added.
Meanwhile, the US forces conducted two separate patrols in the northern and southern Derik countryside, on Monday.
Sources from the village of Ain Diwar said that an American patrol arrived at the village and stopped for about an hour before leaving toward the city of Derik.
The patrol consisted of four armored vehicles and drove through the villages where the Russian forces were present this morning.
According to local sources from the village of Tabaka in the southern countryside of Derik, an American patrol consisting of five military armored vehicles arrived at the village and stopped at the oil station in it.
The patrol toured the southern countryside of Derik, where the oil wells are located.
Unlike previous patrols, the US forces patrolled without helicopters.
In recent days, the American forces have intensified their patrols in Derik, especially in the oil regions, as they patrolled on February 15.
On February 13, the American forces conducted two patrols in Derik, one in the southern countryside and the other in the eastern countryside.
