QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, the official military spokesperson for the Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR), Col. Wayne Marotto said that their mission in northeast Syria has not changed.

“The Coalition works, by, with & thru our partner force SDF to defeat Daesh [ISIS],” Marotto twitted on Sunday.

“The Coalition regularly conducts security patrols; re-supply convoys into the ESSA & upgrades & maintains bases. Troop levels & bases haven’t increased,” he added.

On February 13, the US-led Global Coalition announced that its partners in Syria and Iraq, with its support, carried out 33 military operations against the Islamic State (ISIS).

“By February 12, our partners & CJTFOIR have completed 33 operations against Daesh, denying 20 Daesh terrorists safe havens and enabling the enduring defeat of Daesh.” This came in a tweet by OIR Spokesman.
