DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, unidentified individuals, who were riding a motorbike, fired at a member of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Abu Hamam town, 85 km east Deir ez-Zor.
“Unidentified persons opened fire with a silence pistol on an SDF member in Abu Hamam town wounding him at his face,” a military source told North Press.
The town of Abu Hamam witnesses an acceptable security situation, as it has not witnessed any assassinations or explosions recently.
On December 8, 2020, an IED exploded near a car of an official of Deir ez-Zor Civil Council in Abu Hamam which limited to material loses only with no casualties.
The eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor has witnessed recently an increase in ISIS sleeper cell activists, as a result the SDF and the US-led Global Coalition raised the pace of their security operations.
