Syria’s Autonomous Administration delegation meets Sulaymaniyah governor in KRG
ERBIL, KRG, Iraq (North Press) – On Wednesday, a delegation from Syria’s Autonomous Administration met the governor of Sulaymaniyah, Haval Abu Bakr, in the governorate building in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRG).
The meeting comes as part of a series of meetings conducted by the delegation with political parties and the government agencies in the KRG.
Autonomous Administration representative Norshan Hussein told North Press that “a direct coordination plan is being developed between the delegation and the Sulaymaniyah governorate regarding the conditions of the Autonomous Administration regions and the KRG, especially in light of the ongoing developments.”
“We confirmed at the meeting that the attack on Erbil was by all accounts condemned, and of the same mentality as the Turkish occupation’s attacks on the Gara area a few days ago.” Hussein added.
Hussein stressed “the necessity to activate the representation in Sulaymaniyah and to fulfill its responsibilities towards the Syrian refugees in the governorate, and the need for greater coordination in order to serve the refugees.”
Hussein revealed the intention of a visit by a delegation from Sulaymaniyah to the Autonomous Administration areas soon.
On its Facebook page, the representative posted a statement that “the two parties expressed their hope during the meeting that relations between the two sides would continue to serve the affairs of refugees.”
The statement stressed that “The situation in Syria’s northeast regions is tending towards stability after all these tensions and battles that have been imposed on their map.”
“The Governor of Sulaymaniyah confirmed that they are ready to communicate with regard to all issues, indicating at the same time that they will be helpful to the representation, noting that there are many pressures exerted on Sulaymaniyah due to its clear stances regarding the general issues of concern for the Kurds,” according to the statement.
