Opposition member, child killed in Syria’s east Aleppo countryside

BAB, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, a member of the Turkish-backed civil police and his son were killed by unknown attackers in the city of Bab, east of Syria’s Aleppo.

An private source told North Press that the policeman Ahmad al-Shawi, who was from the city of Bab, was killed along with his six-year-old child in an operation by unknown attackers who were riding a motorcycle.

Turkish forces and Turkish-backed armed opposition groups have been running the city of Bab, near the Turkish border, since 2017.

On Tuesday, a civilian was killed and five others were wounded by an IED planted inside a car near the Central Roundabout in Bab city.

On February 10, a Deir ez-Zor IDP was wounded after being shot by unknown attackers in al-Yamani neighborhood in the city center of Bab.

Syria’s northwest is witnessing detentions and assassinations, accompanied by successive explosions in the light of the opposition groups’ inability to settle security there.
