DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press)- On Tuesday, a person was shot dead by unidentified masked gunmen in Mahshikh town of al-Busayrah, in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
A military source told North Press that unidentified gunmen fired at Abdullah Aboud al-Ameer, near al-Hamra neighborhood in Mahshikh.
The source added that al-Ameer is from Abriha town, 35 kilometers to the east of Deir ez-Zor.
On Monday, the Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the killing of two Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters, whom they targeted with an IED in al-Busayrah, east of Deir ez-Zor on Sunday.
The eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor is witnessing assassinations of members of the SDF, employees of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), and tribal leaders.
The SDF has recently launched a massive anti-ISIS military operation, which resulted in the arrest of many ISIS members in the east and north countrysides of Deir ez-Zor.
