Syrian government is just a caretaker government, activists
LATAKIA, Syria (North Press) – Recently, many Syrian activists have believed that the main task of the Syrian government headed by the Prime Minister, Hussein Arnous, is to carry out businesses until having the upcoming presidential elections in Syria.
“The executive authorities in Syria are mere a tool of the political ones,” Muhammad al-Sheikh, a pseudonym for a political activist from Latakia, told North Press.
“The problem lays in the technic followed in appointing the ministers, which has not changed since 1970 coup, as it is subjected to partisan, regional, and tribal considerations” al-Sheikh added.
He pointed out that population does not experience any difference in any governmental change except for changing the names.
On August 25, 2020, the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad issued the decree No. 210 in 2020 to assign the current Prime Minister, Hussein Arnous to the task of forming the new government in Syria.
“Dismissing a government and appointing another is a routine in Syria,” a politician of the National Coordination Committee (NCC) from Latakia, told North Press.
“The majority of the Syrian people do not recognize the members of the government; however in case one of them becomes known and famous, this will be because of his bad managing, aggravating people’s conditions and neglecting their sufferings and problems,” he added.
The social activist from Latakia Imad Madaniyya (a Pseudonym) believes that the government’s task “is to lead people to election boxes.”
“The government’s task is to follow a policy to worsen life conditions, spread chaos and bring problems to their peak,” Madaniyya told North Press.
“After that, they witness partial relief, partial controlling, a grant and then having presidential elections. This is the scenario,” he added.
