Mutual targeting between government forces and opposition groups in northwest Syria
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – The de-escalation zone in Idlib governorate, northwest Syria, witnessed mutual targeting between the Syrian government forces and the armed opposition groups on Sunday.
Military sources told North Press that “opposition groups targeted a military vehicle loaded with the government forces’ members with a guided missile in Afes town, east Idlib, killing and wounding everyone inside.”
“Armed groups also managed to destroy a machine gun fixed on a car in Afes, after targeting it with a guided missile,” according to the sources.
Meanwhile, local sources told North Press that “the Syrian government forces targeted the sites and fortifications of the opposition groups in the towns of Kansafra and al-Bara, south Idlib, and the village of Marand, west Idlib with heavy artillery shells and rocket launchers.”
Early today, the al-Fateh al-Mubin Operation Room targeted the Syrian government forces’ sites in Latakia’s countryside with heavy artillery shells and rocket launchers.
According to sources from the armed opposition, two Russian officers and Iranian major general were wounded, in addition to the killing and injury of about 15 Syrian government’s members.
