Peace and Freedom Front announces start of work in northeast Syria
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Suleiman Osso, a member of the Kurdish National Council in Syria (ENKS) affiliated with the Peace and Freedom Front, said that the front would announce its organizational structure and start of its work soon, in a seminar held by ENKS on Saturday, in Qamishli to introduce the front.
The Peace and Freedom Front brings together the Kurdish National Council in Syria (ENKS), the Assyrian Democratic Organization (ADO), Syria’s Tomorrow Movement, and the Arab Council in Jazira and the Euphrates.
The founding statement of the front stated that it is a framework for a political alliance between a number of Syrian political forces that seek to build a pluralistic, decentralized, democratic system that safeguards the dignity and freedom of Syrians and takes into account all Syrian communities and their national and democratic rights, leading to a true citizen state.
Osso’s made comments to North Press on the sidelines of a seminar held by ENKS on Saturday in Qamishli to introduce the front.
The front’s bodies have not yet been activated, despite nearly seven months passing since their announcement, Osso added.
“The executive body, the Media Commission, the National and Foreign Relations Authority and others will be announced,” Osso said.
Osso did not talk about the nature of the front’s work, but the front’s founding statement said that it seeks to build a decentralized, pluralistic, democratic system.
