Financial grant from Japan to rehabilitate governmental hospital in Syria’s Qamishli
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syria branch of the World Health Organization (WHO) has recently received a financial grant from Japan to restore the Qamishli National Hospital, which is under the control of the Syrian government forces.
“This support will contribute to improving and strengthening the basic health services provided to preserve life for all the Syrian people in northeast Syria,” WHO said on its Facebook account.
The WHO did not mention the mechanism for distributing the funds to be spent for the restoration and reconstruction of the hospital, according to the statement of the WHO Syria’s branch.
North Press correspondent tried to contact the hospital management, but it declined to comment on the matter.
A medical source from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) told North Press that they were aware of the financial grant, but nothing will be allocated to support other hospitals in the AANES-held areas.
