Turkey sends more reinforcements to its posts in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) –Turkish forces brought new military reinforcements to Syria on Tuesday, within the framework of fortifying their posts in the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria.
A Turkish military convoy entered through Kafr Lossin border crossing and headed towards the Turkish posts in Zawiya Mountain south of Idlib, a field source told North Press.
The Turkish convoy consisted of dozens of vehicles carrying armored vehicles, artillery, logistical equipment and guard cabins, the source added.
On February 8, the Turkish troops sent military reinforcements consisting of 20 vehicles bearing military and logistical equipment towards their posts in the de-escalation zone, south Idlib.
The Russian-Turkish signed agreement in 2017 and its additional protocol in March 2020 provide for a halt to the military actions in the governorate of Idlib and its surroundings.
Since the Turkish military intervention in Syria, it has constructed more than 60 military bases and posts in Idlib, Hama, Aleppo, and Latakia in Syria’s northwest.
