SDF arrests people transfering ISIS militants between Syria, Iraq

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that their Special Forces managed to arrest two people responsible for transferring Islamic State (ISIS) militants between Syria and Iraq.

The SDF resumed their military campaign against ISIS sleeper cells in the desert between al-Dashisha and Markada, south of Hasakah, and areas in Deir ez-Zor on Tuesday.

The SDF’s media office stated on its official website that SDF Special Unites arrested the two people in a joint operation against ISIS sleeper cells in Tel Manekh in Shaddadi countryside, south Hasakah, with air support from the Global Coalition.

On Monday, the spokesperson of the Global Coalition Colonel Wayne Marotto announced the continuation of joint military operations with the SDF to pursue Islamic State (ISIS) sleeper cells.

The SDF was able to arrest one of its wanted ISIS agents, without revealing his name, the smuggling network in which he worked, or the destination to which the families of the organization were sent.
