Syria’s Autonomous Administration records ten new coronavirus cases

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced the recording of 10 new coronavirus infections in its areas on Tuesday.

The newly recorded cases are the first toll a day after lifting the lockdowns in the area and “cancelling all decisions related to rather complete or partial lockdowns.”

The official AANES Facebook account quotes Health Board co-chair Jiwan Mustafa, who stated that the new recorded infections were five men and five women.

The recorded infections were three in Raqqa, three in Tabqa, two in Kobani, one in Girke Lege, and one in the northern Aleppo countryside, where those displaced by the Turkish invasion of Afrin reside.

The Health Board also reported four coronavirus recoveries and no deaths.

According to the new the statistics on new cases of coronavirus in the Autonomous Administration regions, the number of infections has risen to 8,540, including 296 deaths and 1,222 recoveries.
